I feel this death in my bones. @Bourdain had what I’d call a generous curiosity about the world, guiding audiences through it with an awe, respect, and humor that are all too uncommon. Also rare: he knew what he didn’t know. I never knew him in person. I will miss him terribly.

Bourdain starred in a number of popular cooking shows over the course of his career, and was the author of several New York Times bestselling food books.

If you want to talk to someone or are experiencing suicidal thoughts you can text the Crisis Text Line at 741-741 or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. Alternatively, a further list of international resources is available here.

Fan knows just what to do after a baseball lands in her beer

Baseball and beer go hand in hand, for sure, but a baseball in a beer? Ask lucky fan Gabby DiMarco all about it.

As MLB.com's Cut4 reports, though DiMarco watched her home team, the San Diego Padres, suffer a loss against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, she left the game a clear winner after a ball landed in her beer.

In a video from Petco Park – the Padres' home stadium – we see a foul ball land right in her cup.

Naturally, she did the only thing one should do in this situation: She chugged the beer for her delighted audience.

"It bounced from behind me, I was trying to catch it all, and it landed in my cup," she told MLB.com after the incident.

The clip shocked people from all over who were in awe of DiMarco's lucky catch:

People wondered what was up with this dirty-sounding church sign

We guess it's one way to get people to pay attention to a religious message.

An Australian church has raised eyebrows for its dirty-sounding sign, which reads "FORGIVENESS IS SWALLOWING WHEN YOU'D RATHER SPIT." Nope, not making it up.

Here is the sign, as it was displayed in front of the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit in Surfers Paradise, photographed by local politician John-Paul Langbroek.

Despite the rather, erm, loaded sign, a spokesperson for the church explained the meaning of the sign to the Courier-Mail.

"You don’t open your mouth and yell at somebody, you close your mouth and swallow,” they told the newspaper. "If you want to say something, keep your mouth closed for a bit. Swallow it, don’t spit it out."

Who knew, hey. Unsurprisingly, the sign was reportedly blank as of Wednesday morning.

It's not the first time the same message has been used for a church sign for the rest of us to misconstrue, with a Florida church also creating some confusion last November.

Might be time to give this message a rest.

Trump cancels visit for the few Philadelphia Eagles who actually wanted to visit the White House

President Donald Trump didn’t want to play with the Philadelphia Eagles, anyway. He canceled the White House visit from the Super Bowl champs — after most of the team said they weren’t going to show up.

The sudden, perplexing cancellation follows a proposed boycott from some members of the team over the president's insistence that players and coaches stand during the national anthem.

According to The New York Times, White House officials noted that fewer than 10 team members were locked in to attend the event on the South Lawn on Tuesday. So, Trump decided to ditch the whole thing.

"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow," said a statement issued by Trump.

"They disagree with the President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country."

The Philadelphia Eagles Football Team was invited to the White House. Unfortunately, only a small number of players decided to come, and we canceled the event. Staying in the Locker Room for the playing of our National Anthem is as disrespectful to our country as kneeling. Sorry!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 5, 2018

Trump's statement says the Eagles "wanted to send a smaller delegation, but the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better." The fans will still be invited to attend the White House event, but ... wait for it ... for a "different type of ceremony."

Trump states the event will take place at the White House at 3 p.m. on June 5, with the U.S. Marine Band and the U.S. Army Chorus to "celebrate America." The event will be "one that will honor our great country, pay tribute to the heroes who fight to protect it, and loudly and proudly play the National Anthem."

Former Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith, who publicly said he wouldn't visit the White House when the Eagles won the Super Bowl, hit back at the president on Twitter.

There are a lot of people on the team that have plenty of different views. The men and women that wanted to go should’ve been able to go. It’s a cowardly act to cancel the celebration because the majority of the people don’t want to see you. To make it about the anthem is foolish

— Torrey Smith (@TorreySmithWR) June 4, 2018

Mayor Jim Kenney of Philadelphia issued a statement in support of the Eagles, saying that if the White House was going to disinvite the team, City Hall was "always open for a celebration."

"Disinviting them from the White House only proves that our President is not a true patriot, but a fragile egomaniac obsessed with crowd size and afraid of the embarrassment of throwing a party to which no one wants to attend," he wrote.

"[The Eagles'] athletic accomplishments on the field led to an historic victory this year ... I’m equally proud of the Eagles’ activism off the field. These are players who stand up for the causes they believe in and who contribute in meaningful ways to their community. They represent the diversity of our nation—a nation in which we are free to express our opinions."

Pennsylvania lawmakers have now invited the Eagles to visit the Capitol following Trump's snub, reports The Hill.

Rep. Brendan Boyle tweeted that he would have a big cup of Joe waiting for the team.

The @Eagles are still welcome to visit the US Capitol. I will have @Wawa coffee waiting. https://t.co/Ts41v7GBGn

The Philadelphia Eagles are yet to issue an official statement about Trump's announcement, and Mashable has reached out for comment.

The team's most recent tweet is a pretty neutral message about its Super Bowl victory.
