La FIFA dio a conocer su lista de los diez jugadores más rápidos, en la que destacan elementos de la talla de Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo o Wayne Rooney. Dicha lista se basa en la información que recaba FIFA de los datos computarizados durante todos los partidos a cada jugador.

Quien encabeza la lista es el ecuatoriano Antonio Valencia, del Manchester United, quien alcanza una velocidad de 35.1 kilómetros por hora. Le sigue el galés Gareth Bale, del Real Madrid, con 34.7 kilómetros por hora; el tercer sitio es para el inglés Aaron Lennon, con 33.8 kilómetros por hora.
