Football transfer news and rumours: 'Breakthrough - Arsenal on brink of signing Monaco star Thomas Lemar in £45m deal'
Having chased his signature all summer, it seems Arsenal are finally on the brink of landing Monaco star Thomas Lemar in a £45 million deal, according to The Sun. Arsene Wenger has had several offers rebuffed by Monaco, who have insisted Lemar is not for sale. But, it seems there has been a breakthrough. The Sun reports that Lemar has agreed terms with the Gunners and has told the French champions to let him move to North London this summer. Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac have already been recruited and, should the deal go through, the arrival of Lemar would take Arsenal's summer spending to £97m.
