La mejor forma para cubrir el ‘Lado Ciego’

Sandra Bullock le debe su Oscar a la historia que realizara en la pantalla grande del jugador, para ese entonces de los Baltimore Ravens, Michael Oher. La película mostraba la vida de Leigh Anne Tuohy, quien adoptara al para ese entonces vagabundo Oher y lo llevara a la universidad (Ole Miss) y posteriormente a convertirse en jugador profesional de fútbol americano.

Para cuando los Baltimore Ravens consiguieron llegar al juego por el campeonato en el SB XLVII y que ganaran ante los San Francisco 49ers, la familia de Tuohy mostró su apoyo incondicional a Michael, quien dejó lo mejor de sí en cada jugada para defender a Joe Flacco y pudiera conseguir su primer anillo de Super Bowl.

Después del gran paso que tuviera con los Ravens, Oher sufrió una mala racha. Primero fue transferido con los Tennessee Titans, donde las lesiones se apoderaron de su cuerpo, pasando a los Panthers, donde se volvió a encontrar en balance perfecto para conseguir cubrir el ‘lado ciego’ de su QB.

Ahora, con un nuevo club (los Carolina Panthers), Oher está en la antesala de colocarse su segundo anillo. El lindero ofensivo tomó su segundo aire con el equipo que comanda Cam Newton y el apoyo por parte de su familia no ha mermado, todo lo contrario, aumenta.


Leigh Anne expresó que se siente realmente emocionada por disfrutar del SB50 desde la cancha y  que con el jersey puesto con el número de Oher, será una mamá orgullosa y lo más detestable que pueda ser.

Desde que saliera la película Blind Side, Tuohy y su esposo han continuando el camino sin detenerse para ayudar a personas que lo necesitan, y también brindando charlas motivacionales.
